StudyCVNS is a closed beta run by a very small team. This page says plainly what we hold, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it. No trackers, no advertising, nothing sold.

What we collect

  • Your name and email address, because you typed them into the signup form. There is no password — the address is how you get back in.
  • Rough usage: when you signed up, when we last saw you, and how many separate visits you have made. Counts and timestamps, not a record of what you did.
  • Feedback you choose to send: what you wrote, which question it answered, whether you would use it again, the page you sent it from, any screenshots or voice notes you attached, and your browser's user-agent string (so "it broke" can be tied to a device).

What we don't collect

No analytics, no advertising or third-party tracking, no fingerprinting, no third-party cookies. We set exactly one cookie: a signed, httpOnly session cookie that says which tester you are and expires after 30 days. It is not used to follow you anywhere else.

Your voice

When you speak to the tutor, the audio goes from your browser straight to Google's Gemini APIover a live connection. It does not pass through our servers and we never record or store it. Our server's only part in this is issuing a short-lived token that opens the connection.

Google handles that audio under its own terms. Treat anything you say to the tutor the way you would treat anything typed into a cloud AI service.

Your board and your documents

Whiteboard sessions and any documents you upload are stored in your own browser (IndexedDB) on the device you used. We do not keep a copy on our servers, and clearing your browser storage deletes them for good.

When you upload a PDF or photo, its pages are rendered in your browser and sent to Google's Gemini API to be read and described, so the tutor can teach from them. We do not store those page images.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of third-party service providers to run StudyCVNS — hosting, the database, file storage, and the AI that powers the tutor. They handle your data only to provide those services to us, under their own privacy policies, and they are not allowed to use it for anything else.

Beyond that, the beta team reads feedback and the tester list, because reading it is the point of the beta. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Tester records and feedback are kept for as long as the beta runs, and deleted when it ends or when you ask, whichever comes first. Ask and we will delete your record and everything attached to it within 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — including leaving the beta entirely. One email is enough; you do not need to give a reason.

Email past952@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and we will act on it.

Children

StudyCVNS is built for students, but it is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 13, please have a parent or guardian sign up and sit with you.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who sees it, the date at the top changes and anyone with a seat is emailed. Small wording fixes will just move the date.
